Building & Property Surveys Ltd. (formerly Nick Withey Ltd.) is an independent company formed in 2005, with services comprising of the provision of various building and condition surveys; home condition surveys; project management; new build certification; U value calculations; Energy Performance Certificates, and Part L Compliance Calculations for new and existing dwellings and commercial buildings (SBEM, SAP, RdSAP). The company is based in Abergavenny, South Wales.

The company was established by and is managed by Nick Withey, a well-qualified Chartered Builder, Surveyor and Energy Assessor, with over 20 years experience in the construction, property and energy sectors. His past roles have included site engineer, site manager, procurement manager, project manager and technical development manager. For three years prior to forming Building & Property Surveys Ltd. Nick also ran a medium sized contracting company based in South Wales. He is an associate to BRE, the UK’s primary research, testing and consultancy organisation to the built environment, working as a trainer and as a quality assurance auditor for energy assessors. He has also worked as an associate technical consultant and quality assurance auditor to several of the UK’s largest energy assessor organisations.

As a project manager and contractor Nick gained experience of overseeing a variety of projects from conception to completion, ranging from small domestic new builds and refurbishments through to multi-million pound speculative and bespoke developments. As a surveyor and energy assessor Nick has undertaken over 3000 building surveys of various types on both domestic and commercial buildings including general condition surveys, new build certification, homebuyers surveys, defective works surveys, Building Regulation Part L Compliance Calculations and Energy Performance Certificates.
